Dr. Hiwot is the Clinical Lead for the Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMD) Service at the University Hospital of Birmingham, UK. Dr. Hiwot’s research are focused on the deep phenotyping of rare inherited metabolic disorders to provide the best available care for each patient based on stratification into disease subclasses with a common biological basis. He has a background in medicine, biochemistry as well as immunology.
